According to a 32-page document released on Monday night by Chicago State University (CSU), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current president of Nigeria, is a woman.
Recall that on Monday night, CSU complied with a court order from the United States requiring it to give former Vice President Atiku Abubakar access to the academic records of Nigeria’s President.
On the respective platforms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku and Tinubu ran in the just ended presidential election.
Despite this, Tinubu was declared the victor of the hotly contested election that took place on February 25 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Atiku filed a petition with the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal after being dissatisfied with the results, but Tinubu prevailed in court.
After a protracted legal struggle to investigate Tinubu’s academic credentials, Atiku won at the court and has subsequently gone to Nigeria’s Supreme Court to contest Tinubu’s victory.
Apart from academic controversies, there have been a number of disputes surrounding the gender of the Nigerian leader. Tinubu submitted certificates from Chicago State University to INEC to ensure eligibility to participate in the recently finished election.
Following a US court order on Saturday, CSU disclosed Tinubu’s academic records on Monday in response to Atiku’s request, and the documents obtained by this news outlet revealed that the student, identified as “Bola A. Tinubu,” is a female.
