Afrobeat music pioneer Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti’s youngest son Seun recently opened out about the incident that nearly ruined him as a result of his widely reported altercation with Nigerian police. The incident not only put his career in peril but also led to his incarceration.
Seun Kuti, who described the depth of the crises he went through at the time in a live stream, said that the incident came perilously close to ending his career. He claimed that despite being detained in his own home, he struggled to escape the situation in the days and weeks that followed.

Recall that in an effort to defend himself and his family, Seun Kuti punched a police officer in the face following a physical altercation, although the initial cause of the whole thing was a negative encounter with the Nigerian police.
However, what he may have believed to be an act of self-defense had far-reaching consequences that he could not have foreseen.
