A statewide strike has been called to begin on next Wednesday by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Due to President Bola Tinubu’s declaration that “fuel subsidy is gone” in his inaugural speech, there are currently fuel shortages around the nation.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, in particular, has until Wednesday of the following week to reinstate the previous price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, according to NLC President Joe Ajaero, who made the announcement following an emergency meeting of the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) in Abuja.
Ajaero continued by saying that if the Federal Government didn’t comply with the deadline, there would be nationwide demonstrations that would last forever.
