The UK government issued a statement on Friday, September 09, 2022 morning stating that there is no requirement to postpone or cancel sporting events this weekend due to the passing of the Queen.
They have, however, given each organisation the discretion to decide whether or not to proceed with the matches.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport convened a conference call with representatives from all major sports at 9:30 am to discuss the strategy for the remaining events this weekend, and they made it clear they wouldn’t be outlawing sports.
Even though it is up to individual governing bodies, Julian Knight, chair of the DCMS Select Committee, told TalkSPORT that there shouldn’t be any sporting events in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away quietly at Balmoral on Thursday afternoon.
