Aisha Yesufu, a social and political activist, has issued a warning regarding the potential for a protest that might be even more destructive than the ‘End SARS’ of 2020.
Yesufu, a key figure in the #EndSARS demonstrations, brought attention to the simmering resentment in the nation, which was sparked by the haughtiness and hubris of dishonest politicians and leaders who used deceit to gain control of the government.

On her verified X page, she wrote: “The #EndSARS demonstration was unexpected. The next rebellion can also take everyone by surprise.
“Regrettably, it could escalate into violence. The prevailing anger is being fueled by the impunity and audacity of the corrupt politicians and rulers who have subverted the democratic process. No one will be spared.”
A decentralised social movement known as EndSARS was born out of many large-scale demonstrations against police brutality in Nigeria. The demonstrations swiftly extended to Nigeria’s largest cities before turning violent and killing many people, many of whom were young Nigerians.
The movement demanded the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), an infamous Nigerian Police Force unit, and it gathered traction on Twitter.
