Gunmen have stormed the home of Mr Abdurrahman Adamu, the ASUU Chairman of the Federal University of Gusau (FUGUS).
Six people were kidnapped during the attack on the ASUU chairman’s home in Damba Quarters, a suburb of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, according to information received.
According to a member of the institution’s staff and a close relative of the ASUU leader, gunmen raided Adamu’s home in the early hours of Wednesday and abducted five people.
A neighbor, who works in the university’s bursary department, was also kidnapped by the kidnappers.
According to the source, the ASUU leader did not sleep in that house on Tuesday night, and as a result, he was not present during the raid.
His younger brother, a niece, a nephew, and two of his wives’ younger sisters are among those kidnapped in the ASUU chairman’s home.
“Five of them and one Abbas Umar who is his neighbour and also a staff of Bursary Department, Federal University Gusau,” the source disclosed.
The latest kidnappings have yet to be confirmed by state police. When contacted, Muhammed Shehu, a police spokesman, said he will find out and provide more information as investigations go.
