After departing Taraba State’s orientation camp, four corps members were killed in a traffic accident, while others were injured.
Mohammed Ali (TR/21C/2269), Job Gabriel (TR/21C/1655), Auwal Salisu Bashari (TR/21/2988), and Audu Sani Tata (TR/21C/2302) are among the corps members who have died.
The accident occurred while they were returning to Yobe State from the NYSC orientation camp in Jalingo, Taraba State, where they completed the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation Course and were redeployed to Bauchi and Yobe states, according to information obtained from the NYSC Yobe State office.
The Yobe State Government and the National Youth Service Corps’ management have expressed their condolences to the deceased’s families.
Governor Mai Mala Buni’s spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed, issued a statement in which he called their deaths as unfortunate and painful, comforting their families, friends, and relatives.
“It is painful losing these young men at their prime but as faithful, we have to accept it as the will of Almighty Allah which is destined to happen at this time,” he said.
