Following a funeral service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Isiokpo, Ikwere Local Government Area of the state, the remains of the 57-year-old late Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizi, were interred privately in his hometown of Omueke, Isiokpo, in Rivers State.
As the funeral ceremony for the founder of Wigwe University began at 11:00 am today, friends, acquaintances, and well-wishers from the local and foreign communities gathered to pay their final respects, causing tears to rise up in many faces.

At the service were business mogul Aliko Dangote, former Kano emir HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, governors Alex Otti of Abia and Ogun, governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, ex-governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, and senator Godswill Akpabio of the Senate.
The others are the governor of Lagos, Babajide Sawno-Olu, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, former Nigerian diplomat Dr. Godknows Igali, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for president in 2023.
The clergy, traditional rulers from Wigwe’s hometown of Omoeke, and monarchs from Isiokpo as a whole are there.
