Fuel from Aliko Dangote’s $19 billion refinery complex will soon be available throughout Nigeria and the rest of the world, according to the richest man in Africa.
Recall that the $19 billion Dangote refinery was put into service just a few weeks prior to the departure of former President Buhari? Although August was listed as the start of production, that was not the intended date.

It is expected that the facility, which has a 650,000 barrel per day production capability, will produce 9 million litres of jet fuel, 11 million kerosene, and 27 million litres of diesel.
Dangote revealed this in an interview with Bloomberg in Riyadh on the eve of the Saudi-Nigeria business roundtable. He said that the refinery had already obtained a licence to refine 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day and that the reason for the production delay was a desire to begin refining locally produced crude oil in Nigeria instead of importing the raw material.
According to him, the refinery’s main market will be Nigeria before exporting to the nation’s neighbours in West Africa and beyond the world.
“The refinery’s first priority is to supply gasoline to Nigeria before exporting to elsewhere, including the West African region”
