The building of the Ifako road project in Edo State has been officially off by Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd, and Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State.
Edo settlements may now be reached from any area of the state thanks to the road construction.
The route would help economic development and expansion by connecting many villages.
The road project is also projected to offer inclusivity, a sense of belonging, and wealth to the villages, as well as Edo State as a whole.
The road is being built through a unique cooperation in which NNPC/Energeed will give 40% of the finance, Edo State will provide 30%, and the Edo State Mineral Development Commission will supply 30%.
Kyari, who spoke at the flag-off ceremony, stated that the NNPC and its partners Energeed will continue to serve the areas in where they operate.
The value of the National Oil Company’s operations, he informed the Edo State Governor and other dignitaries present at the ceremony, will be evident in the lives of the communities where it is currently operating.
