The Nigeria Computer Society on Monday said it would honour the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for leveraging on ICT to improve revenue generation in Lagos State.
The Acting Chairman of the NCS Lagos Chapter, Kunle Oladipupo, told a news conference in Lagos that Tinubu would be conferred with the ICT Enabler Award during its forthcoming annual conference.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the theme of the NCS annual conference and award is: “Digital Economy, Challenges, Opportunities and strategies of Post COVID-19.”
Oladipupo said Tinubu would receive the award for impacting on people by using Oracle to improve income generation.
According to him, Tinubu had during his tenure as the governor of Lagos State built a foundation on revenue generation, which subsequent governors are leveraging on.
He said: “It is one of the awards that would be given at the conference.
“Other awards and event include the Don Etiebet Innovation award, Dr. Titilola Akinlade for Quizzkids, Celebration of past golden names award.

“Also the Sidmach Prize for the best three WAEC results in Lagos.”
According to him, Lagos State University and University of Lagos are winners and first runners up respectively for this year’s Don Etiebet Innovation Award.
Oladipupo said Sidmach Technology award was for the best three students in the West Africa Examination Council in Lagos was a way of giving back to the society.
He said the Dr. Titilola Akinlade award was for the best student from Lagos that won the ICT quiz in South West.
