Ademola Lookman of Leicester City FC in England has been cleared by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) to represent Nigeria at the international level.
Emilio Garcia Silveiro, FIFA’s Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, delivered the decision of the Single Judge of the Status Chamber of the Football Tribunal to the NFF on Thursday:
“The request made by the NFF – Nigeria Football Federation for a change of association of the player Ademola Olajide Lookman is accepted.
“The player Ademola Olajide Lookman is eligible to play for the representative teams of the NFF – Nigeria Football Federation with immediate effect.”
“We handed in the application on Wednesday night after putting all the relevant papers together,” said Dr Mohammed Sanusi, General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, who verified the clearance. We are overjoyed to have received approval today.”
FIFA just granted the NFF’s application for Ashleigh Megan’s conversion of allegiance in December 2021.
