The Mayor of Lagos Island Local Government, Prince Tijiani Adetoyese Olusi has reiterated his vision to transform development within the Council Area. He said his vision was constant. He expressed this hope today at the 2021 Budget Stakeholders forum in Lagos.
Prince Olusi acknowledged the grace of God for giving his administration the enablement to have served the people in the last three years through the implementation of previous budgets. He assured the people that before the expiration of his administration more achievement would be accomplished.
He pointed out that the monumental effect of the disruption caused by COVID-19 pandemic to global economy and on our social lives were yet to be fully realised. He noted that the world was still in the middle of the pandemic and as responsible citizens, we owed it a duty to religiously follow prescribed preventive protocols and to inform those around us to do same.
Prince Olusi observed that the event in the last two weeks, based on the reported number of recorded deaths indicated that the second weave of the deadly virus was more devastating that the first one.
According to the Chairman, the feedback received on the administration performance in the last three years was encouraging and some of the identified gaps would be seriously addressed in the 2021 fiscal year.

Despite the negative effects of the pandemic and the ENDSAR demonstration, the administration was to able to record notable achievement last year.
The chairman informed the stakeholders that substantial percentage of the budget last year was expended on provision of primary health care services as well as palliative for the residents.
The Chairman also enumerated that the council renovated the three PHCs in the council area as well as weekly conduct of medical outreach services in all the 10 wards for improved access to health services.
He informed his audience that his administration also purchased Emergency Response Ambulance for COVID-19 pandemic control as well as provision of Personal Protective Equipment to Hospitals /PHCs in the Council Area.
Part of his Government achievements last year was the procurement of Mini-Buses for public transportation within the Local Government and construction of drainages and laying of interlocking stones at Ojo-Giwa, Binuyo, and Aroloya Streets
Prince Olusi promised that the legacy project which was unable to take off last year was to serve as befitting Secretariat for the Local Government would be given priority this year.
He therefore appealed and sought the cooperation of all interested parties in the construction of the Eko-Akete project to enable his government obtain necessary approvals for its take-off
