The Spanish Super Cup Semi-Finals was played at the La Rosaleda Stadium.
Athletic Club scored the first goal of the match as Raul Garcia latched on the ball and swept it past Thibaut Courtois in a very cool finish. He gave Atletic Club the lead in the 18th minute.
The second goal of the match came as Garcia scored again to secure his brace. Lucas Vasquez gave away the penalty after fouling Martinez in the box and receives a yellow card for it.
Raul Garcia converts the penalty after sending the Belgian goalkeeper the wrong way to double the lead for Athletic Club in the 38th minute.
Karim Benzema did manage to get a goal back for Real Madrid in the 73rd minute after VAR overturned the on-field decision to give Los Blancos a ray of hope.
Real Madrid had another chance of getting a penalty in injury time as Sergio Ramos appealed for a penalty after being pushed in the Bilbao box. The VAR decided that it is not a penalty and Athletic Bilbao made their way to the finals.
They will now face FC Barcelona in the finals of the Spanish Super Cup.
