According to Niger State police, a robbery on Morocco Road in the state’s Suleja Local Government Area was prevented.
The spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, made this announcement on Saturday in Minna.
According to Abiodun, suspected armed robbers stormed a GSM store on Saturday along Morocco Road in Suleja, shooting intermittently with a handgun while removing a quantity of mobile phones from the business.
He went on to say that after receiving the information, Suleja Area Command-affiliated police officers mobilized to the scene as the criminals hastily fled in a Peugeot 406 with the registration number ABJ 467 GX.
He claimed that after giving the military checkpoint by Zuma Rock a vigorous pursuit, the bandits abandoned the car and fled into the wilderness on their heels.
However, police officers and military personnel are pursuing the evading thieves in an effort to apprehend the criminals.
Police Commissioner Monday Bala Kuryas urged the people not to worry, saying that security personnel were in control of the situation and would keep the public informed of any new developments.
Kuryas urged locals to lend their help by providing him with trustworthy information on characters who might be suspicious so that security measures can be taken right away.
