A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party and an aspirant to Oshodi/Isolo constituency 2, at the green chamber of National Assembly, in the last general elections, Mr. Jude Iwu, has called on Lagos State Government to assist victims who lost properties, as well as families of the deceased persons in the gas explosion that rocked Ajao estate few days ago.
While commisurating with victims of the explosion, Mr. Iwu said that it was unfortunate that the people would be subjected to such trauma during the trying period of COVID-19, when Nigerians were passing through very difficult time.
The PDP chieftain, in a chat with journalists maintained that the time had come for the State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to show empathy.
He stressed that considering the present circumstance, it would be very difficult for the people to cope with the loss.
He said that he was moved by the condition of those people who felt there was no more hope for them, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when people were finding it difficult to make ends meet.
He stressed that an opportunity had come for the Government to show concern to the citizens, support them to start all over again.
