The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, has increased from N488 to between N568 and N617 a litre, and Lagos State civil servants have turned to shift work to lessen the impact of the increase.
The change has lessened the tumultuous gridlock in Lagos State as most of the state’s highways are now seeing free flow of traffic while the majority of Lagos residents who own private vehicles have chosen to take public transport to their workplaces and other locations.

Egbeda, Iyana-Ipaja, Dopemu, Ikeja, Oshodi axes, Ikotun, Isolo axis, Agege, Yaba, Ikorodu Road, CMS, and Ikoyi are among the most frequently visited places.
Many Lagos residents are longing for a relief package in the much anticipated “palliative” as promised by the Federal Government to address, cushion the fuel price crisis and restore affordable transport options for all citizens as they continue to adjust to the new reality of trekking long distances.
The majority of the state’s public servants have started working shifts in order to lessen the financial burden, thus they are not exempt from the difficulty.
