Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, referred to his suspension from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), which is chaired by Senator Iyorchia Ayu, as “the last kick of a dead horse” on Thursday.
Ayu and his associates are merely amusing themselves by using the alleged suspension as their most recent comedy skit, the ex-governor said in a fast reaction through his spokeswoman, Lere Olayinka, after the PDP had sanctioned Fayose and many others for “anti-party activities.”

He said that Ayu’s “inglorious” tenure of Ayu as the PDP national chairman will become history and the party will enjoy a new lease of life.
Fayose maintained that he and other members of the party who remained by it while Ayu and his cronies “left it to die” would eventually save it and give it new life. He continued, “The alleged suspension will have no foundation to stand on.
The response follows a statement by the party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in which she announced the suspension of numerous party members for “anti-party activities,” including ex-Senate President Pius Anyim, Professor Dennis Ityavyar, and Aslam Aliyu.
