In order to empower, educate, and train women in advance of the 2018 elections, The Constitution Lab, a project financed by the US Consulate as part of their contribution to the sustainability of democracy in Nigeria, organized a PVC sensitization session in Lagos State.
The Somolu LG event was hosted by the department of agriculture and held in the multipurpose hall of the Bariga Local Council. The chairman of Bariga, *Hon Alabi Kolade David*, was represented by his warm Vice, Erelu (Hon) Mrs. Adeola Zainot Kuponiyi.
The Vice Chairman thanked the US Consulate for the initiative and praised it as a great step in the right direction, particularly demonstrating how highly valued women are as major players in politics. She also used the opportunity to encourage youths to participate actively as the elections draw near.
In addition to speaking at the occasion, the Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council for Lagos East, Aare Fatai Ajibola, and the Vice President of the Bariga Artiste Forum, Mrs. Vivian Nwoji, also visited the Executive Chairman in his office as a matter of politeness.
